Profile:
- Experience as adivasi rights defender-advocate for last 25 years in attending the legal need of tribals in both civil and criminal matters before the local courts and District court. Legal Consultant to the Director of Tribal Welfare office, in dealing land, forest, community certificate cases.
- Author books / booklets/Reports on subjects Tribals Land, Forest, and Governance issues. Written more than 150 Articles on various issues of Tribals which were published in the State / National/ International News Papers/ Magazines in both local language Telugu and English.
- Carried out several studies on tribals issues individually or collaboratively. Studies including on Alienation of Tribal lands, implementation of Forest Rights Recognition Act, Non Timber Forest Produce, etc. Involved in preparing alternative report to UN on women empowerment at National level. Presented several papers at various forums on PESA, Tribal Land, Forest Rights and Land Acquisition matters etc.
- Key Research person for a study on Tribal Sub Plan (AP), sponsored by CESS, Hyderabad.
Legal Support:
- Associated with Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDAs) of East and West Godavari Districts as Convener of Legal Cell (ITDA) and providing legal support to Tribals in Land rights and other tribal concerns.
Capacity Building:
- Associated with APARD-Land Cell (Ministry of Rural Development Institute, Govt of A.P) and providing legal training to the Revenue Divisional Officers/ Special Deputy Collectors/ Tahsildars / Dep.Tahsildars etc on Laws applicable to Schedule V Areas.
- Associated with Society of Elimination of Rural Poor (Organization of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. AP) and provided Para Legal Training to the selected tribal youth.
- Associated with Director of Tribal Welfare office, in providing legal input to Special Deputy collectors on land matters.
Policy and Law at State level:
- Member of the State Internal Committee in reference to Koneru Land committee, constituted by the Govt.of A.P on Tribal Land issues.
- Assisted in Drafting of Rules under Panchayat Extension To scheduled Areas Act(PESA)
- Member of State Drafting Committee on formulation of guidelines for implementation of Forest Rights Recognition Act 2006.
- Special Invitee for Tribal Advisory Council (TAC-Constitutional body) meetings, Govt. of AP.
